Evaluation

In all cases, candidates should be encouraged to see the evaluation as a creative task and the potential of the format chosen should be exploited through the use of images, audio, video and links to online resources. Marks should be supported by teacher comments and may be supported by other forms such as audio or video presentations.
In the evaluation the following seven questions must be addressed:

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Who would be the audience for your media product?
How did you attract/address your audience?
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Work to do while Mr B is in Wales.

Wales - Welsh National Flag The Red Dragon
1. Research thrillers as a Genre- look at sub genres and find examples- link to clips on You Tube.
From your research select two thrillers to look at in more detail-
who wrote the screen play, who directed them, who were the producer, who distibuted the film and any subsequent video/DVD release?
What was the certificate in the UK at the cinema and on video?
Can you find links to a trailer and a title sequence?
Analysis the title sequence in relation to all the info you have found out above.
Blog about your findings over several posts as appropriate.

2. Ensure all Preliminary Film planning posts are complete

3. If all this is completed spend some time learning your way around iMovie, livetype and garage band. (use headphones)

Tuesday's Lesson.

As discussed in the last lesson. You should choose a style of storyboard template that suits you.
Make sure you a following the brief in the AS Spec and plan the shots for your preliminary film.
You should draw each shot and comment on shot type, sound, script, and transitions.

Should you finish this task you can make a short film in IMovie (web cam only) making use of two transitions, 2 visual effects and removing some of the original sound replacing it with either soundtrack or sound effects.

Demo of how to put a video in a post..

Watch it anyway -it's a useful video explaining the 180 degree rule.
